Trace Normalization in RF Spectrum View
The purpose of trace normalization is to bring the measured traces onto a common scale, allowing meaningful
comparisons between different traces or measurements taken at different times or locations. By normalizing
the traces, you can effectively remove the influence of factors such as different instrument sensitivities or
attenuations, ensuring that the relative amplitudes of signals in the spectrum are accurately represented.
Trace normalization is used to compensate for frequency response errors due to connecting cables and test
fixtures when measuring the response of frequency sensitive devices such as filters and amplifiers.
