Chapter 5 Measurement Functions
5-28
5.5.4 Calculation Method
1. Peaks with a level higher than the level set by S. Level setting of
Signal Parameter are detected and analyzed.
2. The WDM signal wavelength is measured in accordance with the
Wavelength-Detection Type setting of Signal Parameter.
3. The WDM signal peak level is measured in accordance with the
Level-Detection Type of Signal Parameter. WDM signal peak level is
the sum of signal level and noise level. WDM signal level is
determined by “WDM signal peak level Noise level (the level
determined in step 5)”. See Figure 5.5.4-1, and Figure 5.5.4-2.
4. The noise measurement position and range are determined in
accordance with the Noise Parameter Detection Type and Noise
Position settings.

5. When the Noise Parameter Detection Type is Point, the level at the
position set at Noise Position is measured.
When the Noise Parameter Detection Type is Area, the fitting curve
specified at Fitting Curve is calculated. The level at the fitting curve
WDM signal wavelength is measured.
