6.3 Updating Software
Software can be updated using the following procedures.
● Prepare a USB memory stick for the installation.
● Update the software.
● Update the software license.
Notes:
● Do not remove the USB memory while installing the software.
When the software is updated, the wavelength calibration data
resets to the default value.
● Do not install the MS9740A software. If you have installed the
MS9740A software by mistake, restore the hard disk drive
referring to 2.10.3 “Restoring Hard Disk Drive”. Then install the
MS9740B software.
To prepare USB memory for instillation
1. Download this software from the Anritsu website.
(https://www.anritsu.com/en-US/test-measurement/support/downloads)
2. Extract the downloaded file.
3. Copy the extracted file to the USB memory. If the USB memory stick
is drive E:, the file is copied to the following folder
"E:\Anritsu Corporation\Optical Spectrum Analyzer\Install"
The installation instructions are included in the extracted file. For
detailed information, refer to the installation instructions.
To display updating software screen
1. Press
F8
to display Config on the horizontal function keys, and press
F6
.

f8 More 1/2

f1 Software Install
.
To update software
1. Connect the USB memory for installation to the MS9740B.
2. The updating software window is displayed.
3. Press
f1 Software Install
to open the drive selection screen.
4. Select the USB memory drive using the arrow keys, and press
f7 Set
.
5. The install confirmation dialog opens.
The software to be installed is displayed on the upper field and the
installed software is displayed on the lower field. If the installed
software is not displayed on the screen, press
f3 Focus Change
to
select the lower field and scroll the screen using the arrow keys.
