1.1.2 Feature
The MS9740B is an optical spectrum analyzer that uses a diffraction
grating to analyze the optical spectrum of light in the wavelength range of
600 to 1750 nm. In addition to measuring the spectrum of LDs, LEDs, etc.,
it also has functions for measuring loss of passive elements, such as
optical isolators, and the noise figure and gain of fiber amplifier systems.
It adds excellent stability and reliability to the basic functions of a
spectrum analyzer and also features improved performance such as high
dynamic range, superior Rx sensitivity, fast sweep speed based on
Anritsu's long experience in these technologies. The MS9740B is the ideal
analyzer for monitoring production of optical parts and optical
communications circuits.
MS9740B allows setting VBW at 1kHz Fast and at 200 Hz Fast that
enable faster sweeps than those by the existing MS9740A.
The adoption of Windows improved the data management and interface
convenience of MS9740B. In addition to high reliability and excellent
basic functions, it also has various applications to support users with
faster and more accurate measurements.
Basic features:
Supports both single mode (SM) and multimode (MM) fibers (50/125
µm)
Supports also multimode fiber (62.5/125 µm) when MS9740B-009 is
installed.
High-speed measurement with sweep times of 350 ms/30 nm (VBW,
1kHz Fast)
High wavelength accuracy of ±20 pm (WDM wavelength band, when
MS9740B-002 Light Source for Wavelength Calibration is installed)
Dynamic range of 42 dB (0.2 nm from peak wavelength) and 70 dB (1
nm from peak wavelength) (in High Dynamic Range Mode)
High resolution of 0.03 nm (1550 nm band)
Rx Sensitivity of −90 dBm (1 pW)
Optical input of +23 dBm (200 mW) max.
