Chapter 5 Measurement Functions
5-46
14.
f1 On
: Sets wavelength difference On.
Use the rotary knob or the ten numeric keys to input the wavelength
difference for noise measurement. The wavelength difference is
input in the range 0.01 to 20 nm.
f2 Off
: Sets wavelength difference Off.
The position for measuring noise level is set automatically.
The minimum level between adjacent optical signals is the noise.
15. Press
f7 More 1/2
.
16. Press
f1 Slice Level
.
Enter the slice level value using the rotary knob
or keypad. The slice level input range is 0.1 to 50 dB.
17. Press
f2 SMSR Parameter
.
18. Select the side mode searching method using
f1
to
f3
:
2nd Peak: High side mode with next highest level after
maximum level
Left Peak point at maximum level shorter wavelength side
Right Peak point at maximum level longer wavelength side
19. Press
f3 Kσ
and input the ratio of reference deviation using
f1
to
f5
keys, the keypad, or rotary knob. The factor can be entered from 1 to
10.
For the relationship between factor and level differences, refer to
4.5.5 “Analyzing Multiple Spectrum Center Wavelength and
Spectrum Width (RMS Method).”
20. Press
f4 ndB Width
.
Input the cut level (in ndB), using the keypad or
rotary knob.
21. Press
f5 Search Resolution
. Enter the value using the rotary knob or
keypad.
Search Resolution can be input in the range of 0.1 to 10.0 dB.
22. Press
f6 Off
to finish the laser diode module measurement.
Note:
When measuring faceted light sources such as LEDs, VCSELs, etc.,
set MM Mode to On.
For the precautions when using multimode fiber, refer to 2.7
Precautions at Measurement”.
