Sensor Error
Error
The scanner has an
in-the-beam
sensor, which
provides timing for
the decoding of
barcodes. The
scanner monitors
this signal, and
posts this error if
the signal is
sporadic or
missing.
- The scanner
stops reading
barcodes.
- Put the scanner
in the test
mode to test its
ability to read
the barcode
(see section
4.7.2).
This is an internal
failure and is not
field serviceable.
- Replace scanner.

PTP Error
Error
Cannot
synchronize the
internal clock using
the PTP (precision
time protocol)
protocol. This clock
sync pulse is
generated by the
controller unit. It is
used to sync the
read data of all the
scanners in the
network with the
master unit.
LEDs flashing.
- Confirm that all
the scanners
are connected
in the chain.
- Use the scanner
test mode to
confirm that the
scanner can
statically
reading a
barcode (see
section 4.7.2).
- Position a
barcode on a
box so it faces
the
questionable
scanner, and
dynamically test
the scanner.
- Replace faulty
scanner.
