6. After replacing filter cartridge (2), loosen air bleed plug (3)
of the filter cartridge, then push down fuel shut-off lever (A)
to open the fuel supply circuit from the fuel tank. The pro-
cedure for opening the circuit is the reverse of the order for
closing the circuit.
7. After completing the replacement of fuel filter cartridge (2),
bleed the air.
(S): Shut off
(O): Open
Bleed the air as follows:
q For details of the poor fuel arrangement specification machines (if equipped), see “Bleeding air from fuel circuit
with the electric priming pump (4-47)“.
8. Add fuel to the fuel tank until full (to FULL mark on the fuel
gauge).
9. After replacing filter cartridge (2), loosen air bleed plug (3).
10. Remove locknut (5) of priming pump lever (4), pump prim-
ing pump lever (4) to discharge bubbles from air bleed plug
(3). Check that only fuel comes out.
11. Tighten air bleed plug (3).
Tightening torque: 4.9 - 6.9 Nm {0.5 - 0.7 kgm}
12. Push in the priming pump lever (4), then tighten locknut (5)
to hold priming pump lever (4) in position.
Use a genuine Komatsu part for the fuel filter cartridge. After replacing the filter cartridge, run the engine, and
check for any fuel leakage from the filter seal surface.
