ADVANCE
When a Changer Advance command is received, the Lynx II produces a TTL-compatible
advance pulse whose polarity is determined by the ADVANCE POLARITY setting;
POSITIVE produces an active-high pulse, NEGATIVE produces an active-low pulse.
Pulse width is approximately 150 milliseconds. Pulse output is on the rear panel’s CHGR
ADV connector.
ADVANCE POLARITY
Defines the TTL-active state of the changer advance pulse. See ADVANCE above for
details.
Synchronization
EXTERNAL SYNC STATUS
Disables or Enables the main synchronization electronics within the Lynx II. External
Synchronization must be enabled when synchronizing multiple Lynx II units. Settings are
DISABLED, ENABLED, or INDEPENDENT.
• DISABLED disables synchronization in Lynx II. Default mode.
• ENABLED enables external synchronization in Lynx II with connection to all
internal acquisition units (MSS, AUX, SCA’s, and LIST/TLIST) requiring an
external sync signal.
• INDEPENDENT enables external synchronization in Lynx II, but each acquisition
unit (MSS, AUX, SCA’s, and LIST/TLIST) within the Lynx II has independent
control for internal or external synchronization.
EXTERNAL SYNC MODE
Sets the Lynx II’s external synchronization for MASTER to control other units, SLAVE to
be controlled by another Lynx II. Settings are SLAVE (default), MASTER A, or
MASTER B.
• SLAVE sets the Lynx II to be controlled by an external signal supplied through the
rear panel’s SYNC connector.
• MASTER A produces a 200 nanosecond pulse on the SYNC output whose period
in milliseconds is set EXTERNAL SYNC PULSE setting.
• MASTER B produces a 1 MHZ clock with approximately 50% duty cycle used to
synchronize the time base clock with other Lynx II during LIST/TLIST acquisition.
EXTERNAL SYNC PULSE
Sets the rate of the external sync pulse on the SYNC output connector when EXTERNAL
SYNC MODE is set to MASTER A. Range is from 1000 to 2,147,483,648 milliseconds.
EXTERNAL SYNC POLARITY
Sets the triggering edge of the external SYNC signal when external sync is enabled and
EXTERNAL SYNC MODE set to SLAVE. POSITIVE selects the TTL low to high edge,
NEGATIVE selects the TTL high to low edge.
