Lynx II Genie 2000 Acquisition Window Adjust
Lynx II DSA User's Manual – 7096089 51
SDisc Setting
Sets the device’s Slow Discriminator threshold level (when Manual SDisc Mode is
selected). The range is 0 to 100%, where 100% corresponds to approximately 20% of the
full scale energy range.
SDisc Mode
Sets the device’s Slow Discriminator threshold mode. Auto allows the threshold to be
optimized automatically above the system noise level; Manual allows the threshold to be
manually adjusted. For normal operations, this setting should be set to Auto. Please note
that in Manual mode the SDisc threshold can be set below the noise level possibly causing
wanted data to be rejected.
High Voltage Parameters
The High Voltage controls are accessible only from a PHA datasource. The datasource
type is defined during the MID Editor or MID Wizard session by selecting MCA Number
1 for PHA or Number 2 for MCS.
The High Voltage control in the Adjust dialog provides access to a set of parameters
required to control the High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) in the Lynx II.

Range
The Lynx II supports six voltage ranges, + 200 volts, +1500 volts, +5000 Volts, -200
volts, -1500 volts, and -5000 volts.
The 1500 and 5000 volts ranges have separate rear-panel SHV connectors for positive and
negative voltages. The 200 volts range has a single connector for both positive and
negative voltages.
Voltage Limit
The Voltage limit control establishes the HVPS’s maximum output voltage within the
selected range. The Voltage Limit setting must be established before the Voltage control is
adjusted.
