The Lynx II supports eight programmable SCA Counters. The SCAs acquire data
independently of the main acquisition mode. Selecting On begins the SCA counters
acquiring and continues until turned Off. The acquisitions consist of a series of time
intervals specified through the Preset Limit setting.
SCAs are independent of each other; each SCA counts pulses from energy events that
store within the PHA spectrum and occur within the SCA’s upper and lower level
discriminator (ULD and LLD) setting. The settings are independent and can overlap.
For convenience, you can view the entire SCA buffer in a time series plot, see Time Series
on page 122 for more information.
