Auxiliary Counters Settings
Activates the settings dialog for the Auxiliary Counters parameters.
Note: The Aux Counter data collection is controlled from a different location within the
application since these are not commonly used features.
Figure 58: Auxiliary Counters Hardware Settings
Lynx II supports two auxiliary counters that count TTL compatible pulses applied through
rear panel MCX connectors. GPI/O 1 applies TTL pulses to Counter 1, and GPI/O 2
applies TTL pulses to Counter 2. When enabled, data acquired by the counters for the
specified time interval is stored internally by the Lynx II until requested and consumed by
an external application, such as a custom application. If the data is not requested, data
losses will eventually occur when the Lynx II’s internal buffers are exhausted.
If using Auxiliary Counters through a custom application, please see the important note in
Using the Programming Libraries on page 7.
Counters in the Lynx II can be operated in Manual or Automatic mode. In Manual, the
client must manually control the acquisition of the counters through a series of control
commands, such as Latch, Read, Clear, etc. In Automatic mode, the Lynx II performs all
associated housekeeping and holds the data acquired for each interval until requested by
the client. The Web Client interface supports only the Automatic mode of operation when
requesting data for the Time Series display. Manual mode is supported only through the
Programming Libraries.
Preset Limit (mS)
The Preset Limit defines the counter’s time interval in milliseconds. The same value
applies to both counters.
