144 Lynx II DSA User's Manual - 7096089
POLE ZERO
Sets the device’s pole/zero setting from 0 to 4095. The values 1 to 4095 represent the
cancellation of preamplifier time constants from 1.7 ms to 40 μs respectively; a value of
zero sets the pole/zero compensation off (time constant of infinity); a digital oscilloscope
is provided as a user aid when optimizing the pole/zero setting. The oscilloscope
reconstructs the tail of the trapezoid signal thus providing visual feedback that shows the
quality of the pole/zero adjustment. The real time reconstructed signal is also available for
viewing with an external oscilloscope at the rear panel's MON OUT MCX connector.
PREAMP TYPE
RC, TRP (RESET); selects the pole/zero mode; RC: pole/zero can be adjusted manually
by computer command; range: 40 µs to infinity; TRP (RESET): Sets pole/zero at infinity
for use with pulsed charged restoration (RESET or TRP) preamplifiers.
Mixed Signal Oscilloscope
ANALOG TRACE
Data selection for the analog plot in the digital oscilloscope. Selection includes SLOW
THRESHOLD, FAST THRESHOLD, ADC (tail pulse), ENERGY (trapezoidal pulse),
and FAST SHAPER (fast discriminator pulse)
HORIZONTAL SCALE
Defines the full scale time range in microseconds for the digital oscilloscope’s X-axis plot.
HORIZONTAL DELAY
Applies a time delay in microseconds between the trigger point and capture point,
allowing for trace movement along the X-axis. Variable from zero to N, where N is the
upper limit dictated by the HORIZONTAL SCALE selection.
VERTICAL SCALE
Variable attenuation factor, in percentage, ranging from 0.02% to 100% applied during the
reconstruction of the analog data for the analog plot.
VERTICAL OFFSET
Variable offset factor, in percentage, ranging from 0% to 100% applied to the baseline
when plotting the reconstructed analog data.
DIGITAL TRACES
Individual selections enable (checked) or disable (unchecked) the display of the respective
digital trace.
OVERLAY PREVIOUS TRACES
When enabled (checked) provides a limited trace history with variable intensity, with the
brightest being the newest trace, for both analog and digital traces.
