H. Saving Spectrum Data in N42 and
CAM Formats
Data files for the PHA or MCS input can also be saved in CAM format for processing by
Genie applications and in ANSI N42.42 standard used for radiation detectors.
The Lynx II supports both CAM and N42 data formats through the Lynx II web client
interface. Click on the Save button for Save Spectrum under Maintenance | MCA
Information to download the spectrum files.

The location of downloaded files is browser dependent, but downloaded data files are
typically located in the user’s Download folder. The file naming format is
‘<date><time>.tar.gz’. This is a compressed archive file that includes both N42 and CAM
files as well as other files as described below.
