Chapter 4 System Setup
50 Lynx II DSA User's Manual - 7096089
Refer to PUR/LTC Operation on page 166 for more information.
Gain Attn.
Sets the Gain attenuator to Off or On.
When On (selected) enables a divide by four input attenuator to minimize overload due to
preamp signals with large DC offsets and Reset Preamps with large output ramp dynamic
range. When Off is selected the signal attenuation is removed.
When making a gain adjustment, please refer to the applicable guideline under Coarse
Gain setting.
LLD
The digital Lower Level Discriminator (LLD) sets the minimum input acceptance level;
active only when Manual LLD mode is selected; adjustment range is 0.0% to 100% of the
spectrum full scale range.
LLD Mode
This adjustment selects Automatic and Manual LLD modes; the digital Lower Level
Discriminator selects minimum input acceptance level. With Auto selected the LLD cutoff
is automatically optimized just above the spectral noise threshold. Manual allows the LLD
cutoff to be set manually using the LLD slider bar as a percentage of the full scale spectral
size or range. The LLD slider bar does not function when Auto is selected.
ULD
The digital Upper-Level Discriminator (ULD) sets the maximum input acceptance level.
Range is 0 to 100%. The ULD setting is a percentage of the full scale spectral size or
range.
TRP Gate Pol.
Selects either Positive or Negative input polarity for the TRP Gate input signal applied to
the rear panel connector.
TRP Inhibit
This setting is in effect when the TRP Inhibit Mode is set to Manual. Sets the TRP Inhibit
Time to a value from 0 to 160 μs in steps of 10 μs.
TRP Inh. Mode
Selects the TRP Inhibit Mode to Auto or Manual. In Auto, the signal processing is gated
off for the greater of the external RESET signal OR the Internal Inhibit Time which is
shaping-dependent. In Manual mode, the signal processing is inhibited for the greater of
the user-selected TRP Inhibit Time OR the external RESET signal OR the Internal Inhibit
Time.
Inp. Polarity
Sets the detector signal polarity for the ENERGY input as Positive or Negative.
