Calculating Data Bytes for Data Blocks
This section explains how to calculate the data quantity for data blocks.
Example:
String Field
8 characters × 2
bytes/character

1 record = [8 characters × 2 bytes/character]+[4 bytes]+[4 bytes]+[8 bytes]= 32 bytes
100 records = 32 bytes/record × 100 records = 3,200 bytes
