Remove a Fan Cable Assembly
Caution - Remove AC power using the circuit breakers on the appropriate PDU before
performing this procedure.
1.
Determine which fan cable assembly requires service.
See “Identify Faulted Components” on page 36.
2.
Take the necessary ESD precautions.
See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.
3.
Power off the server and switch off the appropriate PDU circuit breakers.
See “Removing Power From the Server or Domain” on page 69.
4.
From the front of the server, remove all fan modules from the side of the chassis
that contains the failed fan cable assembly.
See “Remove a Fan Module (CMIOU Chassis)” on page 180 or “Remove a Fan Module
(Switch Chassis)” on page 184.
5.
Unseat the CMIOUs.
See “Unseat a CMIOU” on page 93.
6.
Unseat the SP tray.

7.
Remove all of the interconnect assemblies from the front of the affected chassis.
