OPUS devices update manual

Overview

OPUS devices run different kinds of software, depending on the ordered product variant.

Here is an overview of the different software types:

OS – Operating System (before: BSP - Board support package)

This is the operating system of the device, a customized embedded Linux. It is installed on

every OPUS A3 / A6 / A6 G2 / A8 device. If you are programming with C / C++ / Qt, you

only need to install the OS files.

PClient – Projektor Client

This software is installed on devices that were ordered as CAN devices (e.g. article

number OPUSA3EN1CANF000). The PClient is the counterpart of the Projektor Tool on

the PC and part of the OPUS Toolchain.

Codesys Runtime

This software is installed on devices that were ordered as CDS devices (e.g. article

number OPUSA3EN1CDSF000) or Codesys Webvisu devices (CWV, e.g. article number

OPUSA3EN1CWVF000). It is the counterpart of the Codesys development environment

on the PC. The Codesys runtime contains a per-device license and runs only on devices

with CDS in the article number.

Please note that you can also install the PClient on Codesys devices.

ISO-VT

This software is installed on devices that were ordered as ISO devices (e.g. article

number OPUSA3EN1ISOF000). ISO-VT (Virtual Terminal) is part of the standard

ISOBUS. ISO-VT contains a per-device license and runs only on devices with ISO in the

article number.

Please note that you can also install the PClient on these devices.

Please note that this software is not developed further.

ISO-V2

This software is installed on devices that were ordered as ISO V2 devices (e.g. article

number OPUSA8SN1UTLF000). ISO-V2 is part of the standard ISOBUS. The ISO V2

software only runs on devices with UT in the article number. Upgrades can be bought to

extend the functionality.

To be sure you have the latest software running on the

devices, please always perform a software update on devices

you purchased.
