To Setup the Mechanical Label-Sensor (Option)
NOTE: Following adjustments should only be performed by a qualified service technician!
This label detection is generally used for transparency labels. In the opposite to the standard
label sensor reading the opacity of different label types, this one scans the thickness of the
material using an inductive sensor and a mechanical lever.
An adjustment of the sensor setup is necessary only with different material thicknesses. The
adjustment is made by a set collar. A change of setting of the perch bolt or inductive sensor is
not requiring

Please perform for adjustment the micro switch the following steps:
1. Position a label + backing under the Scan Roller of the sensor.
2. With the Set Collar of the Scanning Lever the setup is made as follows:
- when LED is off = go to point 3.
- when LED s on = go to point 4.
3. Turn the Set Collar in anticlockwise direction (out) till the LED comes. This setting
detects label + backing and the sensor signal is available permanently.
4. Turn the Set Collar counter clockwise (in) till the LED is off. Afterwards additionally move
it for a half turn.
Pull the label liner through the mechanical sensor to test the setup. The LED may light up now
exclusively only in the label gap.
NOTE ! A complete sensor function is given only by the following parameter setting:
- Service-Program: Set the value of Address 0 03 to "00" and at Address 0 05 set the
nominal distance in cm between sensor and peeling edge.
- Programming Mode: Set he "GAP LEVEL" to "100"; "LABEL LEVEL" to "150" and perform
"CALIBRATE LABEL" to finish.
If the settings were correct, the display shows during the normal operation (see page 60) a
sensor value of approx. "255" and a gap value approx. "0". The LED of the sensor may flash
only in the gap.
