Tamp-On Setup
All settings of ALPHA V 40 equipped with the optional Tamp Blow Applicators apply nearly
exactly the same as systems with Tamp On Applicators.
The exception is the construction of the spring mounted (Gimbal-) Tamp, which is designed to
press the label onto the product. While performing the application, a small switch-angle lifts from
the sensor (see Fig. 5-17) so that the “contact to an object" has been detected. After the
controller receives the signal the machine starts retracting the cylinder to the home position.
In the matter of fact the ALPHA V40 Tamp-On system contains a variable stroke applicator (see
page 55) which is not needed at all.
