Low Label Sensor Connection (X3-LOW LABEL SENSOR)
Refer to Fig. 4-1 on page 26. One of the M12 Connectors on the rear panel requires to the
option “Low Label Sensor”. If this option is connected, it is ready for use. Its input is also
configurable but it is not necessary in the normal case. Please if required refer to page 30 for
the configuration.
A light barrier (see Fig. 4-7) scans the label roll.
A signal is switched if the label roll is decreases
to a certain diameter. A text message appears on
the controller display.
If a 3 colours warning lamp is connected
the signal appears in addition to the yellow light.
Beyond this, a contact is also switched to the
relay outputs (see page 36).
For the pin-out see Fig. 4-5 on page 32.

Connection to Shaft-Encoder (X5-DIG ENCODER)
The Alpha V40 contains (refer to Fig. 4-1 on page 26), a 4 pin input for a speed encoder
performed as a M12 connector.
The connection for an encoder (option) is only useful for Wipe-On systems. When using a
speed encoder the ALPHA V40 is able to control the feeding speed in range of 0.5 – 22 m/min
conveyer speed. Reference! Adjusting the speed is not possible while the label feed. Only the
following label can be ejected with the changed speed.
NOTICE! Please read the following "Notes to setup the speed encoder".

NOTES TO SETUP THE SPEED ENCODER:
For the setup of the optional 5000s speed
encoder supplied from Geset and friction
wheel of 200 mm circumference, the
address 006 has set to "24" (refer also to
Page 80)
For the automatic speed regulation the
value of LINE-SPEED (refer Page 66) has
set to "0.4".
