Firmware Release Notes
Following is a history of firmware releases through version 40.0.
Version 40.5c Released: 12 May 2005
A special Firmware version valid for High-Speed Applicators (normally used with Blow-Box)
only.
Minimal response time for Secondary Sensor (X4) (trigger air blast when label waits on the
Blow-Box).
Providing compensation at Address 0 253, enabled adjusting to equal response behaviour
of parallel working systems. The principle: the quickest Labellers are receiving delay (0.1 ms
steps) in order to slow them down just as well as the slowest Labeller. This covers the
compensation of system conditions of electromechanical difference (max. 2 ms).
Version 40.5 Released: 28 Dec. 2004
A new feature has been added:
programmable delay before tamp movement (service parameter Address 253, x10ms);
A few problems have been fixed:
some machines could behave strangely after a LABEL CALIBRATION, displaying random
characters and loosing control of the operation, due to an unexpected error.
general error handling has been further improved and the "retry" mechanism has been
extended also to the LABEL CALIBRATION procedure, to avoid residual NOT
RESPONDING error messages that still happened on some machines.
after switch-on, with the automatic label skip feature enabled, a single label was always
skipped once, even if no paper feed irregularities were detected.
the switch-point for the dynamic resolution change of the TRIGGER DELAY parameter has
been raised to 21 m/min (the previous value of 10 m/min was considered too low).
when label presence check is enabled, a 2-seconds timeout is introduced before flagging
the MISSING LABEL error.
when "burst mode" is enabled, the trigger delay is executed only before the first label (in
practice: the TRIGGER DELAY parameter affects only the position of the first label, while
their spacing is controlled only by TRIGGER BLANK).
Version 40.4 Released: 13 July 2004
Some new features have been added:
This update was made to comply with CE requirements, the start-up message "PRESS ANY
KEY" is now displayed after switch-on and the machine waits for the operator before doing
anything, however this can be bypassed by setting bit 6 of Address 07 in Service Mode;
Other changes, additions, improvements or fixes are the following:
while operating, the Left and Right keys can be used for real-time adjustment of the
TRIGGER DELAY instead of the LINE SPEED (if bit7 of Address 07 is set in Service Mode)
