value is temporary and is not stored in memory until PROGRAMMING mode is entered and the
STORE PARAMETERS function is executed.
Auxiliary information to the Line Speed
Up to 10 m/min the stepper motor can start and stop instantly, so the speed is constant for the
entire movement. But to reach higher speeds it is necessary to accelerate and decelerate more
softly, following appropriate ramps: for speeds from 10.1 to 21.1 m/min, the ramp is 5 steps long
(about 1.5 mm), from 22.1 to 40.1 the ramp is 5 to 23 steps long (1.5 to 7 mm) and from 41.1 to
64.1 it is 15 to 38 steps long (4.5 to 11.5 mm).

Fig. 6-2
The speed increases and decreases linearly: this means that the average speed during the
ramp is the half of the final speed, thus decreasing the average speed for the whole label,
especially for short ones (for example, in case of a label 50 mm long with a 3 mm gap
dispensed at 64 m/min, the average speed is only about 45 m/min, because the ramps
represent a significant fraction of the total length).
If a shaft encoder is used, set the parameter (LINE SPEED) to "0.4". Now the variable speed
labelling in the range 0.5 to 22 m/min is enabled. As of a higher speeds the machine stops in
error condition
Reference: Adjusting the speed is not possible while the label is feed. Only the
following label can be ejected with the changed speed. An adjustment within the
label-movement is not possible. Please note this specially for Wipe On
applications.
