Air Assist Setup
NOTE: Following adjustments should only be performed by a qualified service technician!
All ALPHA V40 work with the air assists except the Wipe-On systems.
For the label application a label must be pressed against the tamp pad/ vacuum grid, till it is
captured by the vacuum. This is being done from the air assist while the label moves.
The air assist consists of a tube with 3 holes and an air flow control valve (see FIG. 5-5, red
mark), to regulate the air flow.

Use a small screw driver to adjust the air jet if necessary. Turn the screw from the air flow
control valve located on the end of the tube clockwise to increase the air jet. To reduce it, turn
the screw counter clockwise.
Check the air assist tube angle to make sure that the jet is pointing about 1cm (0.4 inch)
towards the front edge of the tamp pad / grid of the blow box (see Fig. 5-6). The tube is secured
in a bracket by a socket head cap screw.
