CALIBRATE LABEL
“Calibrate LABEL” is used to measure the label length. While the procedure, one or two labels
ejecting (depending if it starts on the gap or on the label) with predefined speed of 10 m/min.
During this movement, the distance between the reference edges of two adjacent labels is
measured and will be used as a reference for label ejection during normal operation.
The number of labels between the sensor and the peeling blade is also calculated to allow
automatic label skip at the right time in case of a single missing label on the label roll (compare
to page 72).
Of course, to avoid calculating wrong values, it is necessary to check, before performing this
operation that…
- paper is correctly loaded,
- label photo sensor parameters are appropriate for the used material,
- the next two labels after the photo sensor are not missing.
Press either [] or [] key to move to the next setting.
Use the [Enter]-key to start the label length calibration procedure. If the calibration was
successful, the calculated distance in mm is displayed on the second line as a reference
"LABEL DIST.XXXX", otherwise the value remains blank, indicating that procedure must be
repeated after having checked and corrected the problem. Obtaining the same value when
repeating calibration several times is an indication that the machine is operating correctly and
paper feed is stable.
