Programming Mode
The ALPHA V40 contains up to 30 different label formats (how to change, see page 64). You
are able to call up every parameter of a stored label format. In the Programming Mode the
current label format is displayed on the rightmost position of the first line. Every change of a
label parameter refers to the current label format. The Programming Mode is used to set up the
ALPHA V40 to a certain label material. See the utilities of the menu as follows:
- LINE SPEED
- LABEL POS.
- REFER. EDGE
- GAP LEVEL
- LABEL LEVEL
- TRIG. DELAY
- SYNC PULSE
- TRIG. BLANK
- LABEL QUEUE
- CALIBRATE SENSOR
- CALIBRATE LABEL
- STORE PARAMETERS
With “Store Parameters” you overwrite the existing parameters of the current label format.
Accordingly, select an unused label format before you start to setup the ALPHA V40.
NOTE: An overwritten label format can not be cancelled or recalled.

This is the nominal speed (in m/min) at which the label is dispensed. For Wipe On systems, it
should match the speed of the product on the conveyor line, special in case of low speeds
and/or long labels. Please note that the operation with shaft encoder can be enabled by setting
the parameter at "0.4", refer to the page 80.
