Tamp Pad
A label is cached via the vacuum using the holes in the tamp pad after it is applied onto the
product via air blow using the same holes. Number, size and position of the holes depend on
the label format.
Fig.5-14: Tamp Pad
Depending on the employment of the machine, the tamp pad is delivered separately by the
system. You receive the individually pad with accurate hole design from Weber Marking
Systems.
CAUTION ! Never run the applicator with a tamp pad without drilling holes.
When using a blank tamp pad the procedure should be followed
1. Press [Enter] to dispense a label used as a reference onto the tamp (without tamp pad).
2. Transfer the actual position from the label to the tamp pad. It's the initial dimension for
your pattern of the drilling holes. Afterwards the label should cover all holes
completely.
3. The holes are spaced out to a matrix of 8 until 15 mm equal intervals. The label size
dictates the numbers of holes required.
4. The first row of the holes starts in a distance of 5 until 10 mm downstream the edge of
the tamp pad. For a large label format choose the larger distance (for the vertical and
horizontal direction).
