ERROR MESSAGES (printer will not operate)
Problem / Symptom Description or Cause Possible Solution
Note
CHECK RIBBON Wrong type of ribbon may be
installed. Ribbon for [printer] will
not work.
Ribbon may be improperly installed.
Install proper ribbon.
Reload ribbon cartridge. Refer to
Installing the Ribbon Cartridge on
page 66.
COMMAND ERROR A command error occurred. Reset the Printer, and try printing the
card again.
COVER OPEN The cover is open. Make sure that the cover is
completely and securely closed.
LID OPEN The lid is open. Make sure that the lid is completely
and securely closed.
MECHANICAL ERROR Check that you are using the correct
card type.
Check that ribbon is loaded
correctly.
Check for card jam in card flipper.
See Specifications on page 6.

Cartridge on page 66.
Open the lid, release the card feeder
by pressing the finger tab lever to the
left of the card thickness adjustment
(arrow below), raise the card feeder,
and remove any jammed cards from
the card flipper. Note that you may
need to rotate the card flipper by hand
to access the jammed cards.
