9. Remove the transfer line nut and its ferrule,
the heater/sensor cable assembly, and the
heated block.

10. With an open end wrench, unscrew the trans-
fer tube from the detector base. Lift the
transfer tube—containing the fused silica
liner—vertically off the instrument. Remove
the fused silica liner and the 1/16-inch
Vespel ferrule by pulling the fused silica liner
and ferrule out from the bottom. Inspect for
damage.
