A typical SERVICE method
Before beginning work on an instrument, use the
Control Module to make sure that the SERVICE
method accomplishes the following:
• Any heated zone (inlet, detector, oven, valve
box) where you will be working is set to
< 40°C or OFF
• All hydrogen gas flows are turned OFF for
any inlet, detector, or valve you will service
or disconnect
• All gas flows that will be disconnected are
turned OFF
• Any other feature that could be hazardous or
waste resources (such as cryo cooling) is
turned off
Update firmware
To update GC, injector, or Control Module firm-
ware, first disconnect the Control Module from
the GC. Then, install the PC Card containing the
update into the Control Module and reconnect
the Control Module to the GC. Do not update
firmware during a run.
1. Select Status / Service / Update.
2. Select GC Update, Injector Update, or Mod
Update.
