Packer Wheel Assembly

PACKER WHEEL ASSEMBLY
1. Ensure all components are free of foreign materials
such as dirt, straw or fertilizer.
2. Remove lock nut (5), spacers (6) and packer wheel (7)
from packer wheel arm (3).
IMPORTANT: Make sure the spacers (6) are
installed the same on each opener
(same number on each side) as
this will affect packing depth.
3. Inspect packer wheel bearing (7) to ensure it rotates
freely. Replace if necessary.
4. Remove roll pin (4) and washer from packer wheel
arm (3) and slide packer wheel arm out of main
casting.
5. Inspect bushings in main casting and packer wheel arm
shaft (3) for wear. Replace if necessary.
6. Assemble packer wheel arm (3) to main casting using
washer (1) and roll pin (4).
7. Assemble packer wheel assembly to arm (3) and torque
5/8" lock nut (5) to 203 N-m (150 lbf-ft).
