Implementing VXLAN
This module provides conceptual information for VXLAN in general and configuration information for layer
2 VXLAN on Cisco ASR 9000 Series Router. For configuration information of layer 3 VXLAN, see

VPN Configuration Guide. VXLAN provides the same Ethernet Layer 2 network services as VLAN, but with
greater extensibility and flexibility.

Prerequisites for implementing VXLANs
This prerequisite applies to implementing VXLANs:
You must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes the proper task IDs. The command
reference guides include the task IDs required for each command.
If you suspect user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.
