Command commands
The common commands are understood by all SCPI and IEEE 488.2 instruments. Their purpose is to perform general
tasks and to read or work with the registers common to all SCPI instruments. The following common commands have
been implemented.
Command Short description Command group
:*CLS Resets the entire status reporting
system.
General common commands
:*ESE Sets and queries the event status
register mask.
Event status register
:*ESR? Reads out the current contents of
the event status register.
Event status register
:*IDN? Returns device identity. General common commands
:*OPC Waits until previous command
has been completed.
General common commands
:*RST Resets the entire test set. All
parameters, limits etc. are set to
internally predefined default
values.
General common commands
:*SRE Sets and queries service register
mask.
Service register
:*STB? Returns the current contents of
the service register and clears the
service register.
Service register
:*WAI Waits until previous command
has been completed.
