Chapter 7 Abdominal Measurements & Calculations
7.1. Measurements and Calculations
The abdominal examination is usually performed in the B mode.
1. Press Transducer, select the desired probe model and the exam mode Abdomen/ Abd
Difficult/ Aorta, and then press OK, or double click on the exam type.
2. Press B to enter the B mode.
3. Press Measure to activate the application measurement function. The measurement menu is
displayed.

Items of Measurement and Calculation
Liver, Portal V. Diam, CBD, Gallbladder, GB wall, Pancreatic, Spleen
7.1.1. Liver
1. In the abdominal measurement menu, roll the trackball to highlight Liver/Portal V. Diam,
press Set.
2. Measure three pieces of data: LIVER-L, LIVER-W, LIVER-H, or portal V. Diam by the
method of distance measurement.

3. After the measurement, the result of Liver will be displayed in the measurement result
window.
7.1.2. Gallbladder
1. In the abdominal measurement menu, roll the trackball to highlight CBD/ Gallbladder/ GB
wall, press Set.
2. Measure CBD, or GB-L, GB-W and GB-H, or GB wall by the method of distance
