Chapter 11 Small Parts Measurements & Calculations
11.1. Measurements and Calculations
The small parts examination is usually performed in the B mode.
1. Press Transducer, select the desired probe model and the exam mode Thyroid, and then
press OK, or double click on the exam type.
2. Press B to enter the B mode.
3. Press Measure to activate the application measurement function. The measurement menu is
displayed.

NOTE:
Small parts application measurements are available for thyroid exam only; other small
parts exams such as Breast/MSK/Testicle/Superficial have generic measurements only.
To determine the right thyroid volume or left thyroid volume, perform three measurements:
length, width, and height. The system calculates the volume.
The measurement & calculation items of small parts of B mode are as follows.

The measurements of THY include L.THY-V, R.THY-V, and Isthmus.
To measure L.THY-V:
1. In the small parts measurement menu, roll the trackball to highlight L.THY-V, press Set.
