Chapter 14 Pediatrics Measurements & Calculations
The pediatrics examination is usually performed in the B mode. The pediatrics measurements
include HIP.
1. Press Transducer, select the desired probe model and the exam mode Pedia Abd, and then
press OK, or double click on the exam type.
2. Press B to enter the B mode.
3. Press Measure to activate the application measurement function. The system displays the
measurement menu, as shown below.

To measure HIP:
1. In the B-gynecology measurement menu, roll the trackball to highlight HIP and press Set.
2. Perform two measurements, the angle α between BL and ARL, and the angle β between BL
and IL, by the method of angle measurement.

3. After the two measurements, the results will be displayed in the measurement result window.
You can measure a maximum of one group of data.
14.2. Pediatrics Report
After the Pediatrics examination, the system generates a HIP worksheet.
1. Select the desired probe model and the exam mode Pedia Abd.
2. In B mode, after application measurements press Report to open HIP worksheet, as shown
below:
