10.4 Common trouble relay

The relay is a potential-free change-over contac
t
assigned permanently as a common trouble relay an
d
is activated when the fire alarm control panel is in th
e
normal mode.
If the control panel detects at least one troubl
e
incident, relay activation will be interrupted and th
e
relay will change its control status.
This application also permits transmission of a troubl
e
signal via the potential-free relay contact when th
e
control panel is in CPU failure mode or in the event o
f
mains and battery failure.

Monitored inputs IN1 and IN2 allow you to monitor tw
o
external devices, such as an external power supply fo
r
feeding the control panel components.
For each input, Customer Data Editor 8000C may b
e
used for entering specific additional text of 2

characters in length that will be shown on th
e
alphanumeric display and protocol printer in the even
t
of an incident.
An external contact is required for activating an inpu
t
and will be open in the normal mode. This contact
is
used to switch input IN1 or IN2 to GND in order t
o
send a trouble message to the fire alarm contro
l
panel.
