DEM 2 (PAL)
DEM 2 for PAL is a fullfield pattern and shows four colorless vertical bars that are 'anti-
PAL' coded. The V and U levels are different for 625 or 525 line systems. The luminance
is set to 50% for 625 and to 53.8% for 525 line systems.
For details, see Figures 4-81 and 4-82.
Applications:
This pattern is used for checks and adjustments of the PAL decoding and should not
show any color at a well aligned color television or monitor: all four squares should be
grey. For further details how to check the delay line or demodulator, see pattern DEM 1
(PAL).

DEM 2 (NTSC)
DEM 2 for NTSC is a color pattern and comprises two horizontal bars:
•
Bar 1: +V, -V, +U, and -U vectors, Y = 53.8%
•
Bar 2: +I, -I, +Q, and -Q vectors, Y = 53.8%
