At the start of every data string, commands are present to clear the memory of the CC
decoder in the television. The data string is cyclic; at the end of the data string, a clear
screen command is present.
The Optional Extended Characters are mostly accented characters. If the receiver does
not support these characters, the appropriate character is shown without accent.
