The CPU controls and processes the internal Back End Processor operations. In addition, the CPU
supports the Front End Crate via the IP card. The CPU used in the Vivid™ 4 ultrasound unit is a
Pentium 4, 2GHz Intel Processor, or newer. On older units (Pentium III) the CPU is I GHz.
