Inserting a drive carrier:

1. Power off GEN7iB.

2. If the drive bay eject button is released, push it to lock the eject button inside the

bay.

3. Slide the drive carrier into the frame, then push the carrier in until it clicks.

4. Insert the key included in delivery into the keylock and turn it 90 degrees clockwise

to secure the carrier to the frame.

5. Power on GEN7iB.

Tip

The rst time that any drive is used with the removable drive bay, it appears as a blank,

unallocated drive. The drive inside the enclosure needs to be formatted before use.

CAUTION

Formatting a drive will erase all data on the drive, so be sure to back up all data before

beginning this operation.
