Table 11 Email parameters
This is the IP address of the email server.
SMTP Server:
Some email servers require authentication to send email alerts. If required,
enter a Username and a Password here that are valid on the SMTP server
entered in the previous box.
Username and Password:
This is the email account to which the email will be attributed in the recipient's
inbox. The account must exist on the email server. For example, you may
like to create an account called “MyD2D@MyServer.com”.
Sender's Email Account:
This is the email address of the person who should receive the message. Up
to eight email addresses may be specified. You may only enter one address
per line. Once you have configured an email recipient, there is a Test button
that you can use to send a test email to the specified address.

It is important to check the SMTP server's security configuration parameters to ensure that the Sender's
Email Account can be recognized. Security configuration parameters are found within the SMTP virtual
server’s property pages. To view or modify them:
1. Open the Exchange Management console.
2. Click on Servers and then the server you wish to configure.
3. Click on Protocols and then SMTP.
