Operating Engine Emergency Stop from Ground
(If equipped)
This engine emergency stop switch is for use when carrying out inspection and maintenance under the
machine or around the undercarriage. It will prevent anyone from starting the engine by mistake from the
operator's seat.
Normally, cancel the engine emergency stop switch.
Pull rope (R) of the engine emergency stop switch installed at
the left or right side of the machine.
q When the engine emergency stop switch is actuated (indi-
cator lamp (L) lighted up), the machine changes to the con-
dition given below.
q If rope (R) of the engine emergency stop switch is
pulled while the engine is running, the engine stops
and the machine monitor goes out.
q Even when the key in the starting switch is turned to
the START position, the engine will not start.
q Even when the key in the starting switch is turned to
the ON position, the machine monitor does not give a
display.
q Indicator lamp (L) lights up to show that the engine
emergency stop switch is actuated. This indicator lamp
(L) lights up regardless of the operation of the starting
switch.
q If the key in the starting switch is turned to the ON position
when engine emergency stop switch (S) is at ON (emer-
gency stop) position, engine emergency stop warning lamp
(C) on the console panel to the left of the operator's seat
inside the cab lights up.
When starting the engine again after stopping it, do as follows.
