Remove the drive shaft assembly (refer to the
“TRANSMISSION
REMOVAL/INSPECTION/
INSTALLATION” section in this chapter).
Remove the washer (thick) and reverse gear.
Remove the washer (thin).
ASSEMBLY/INSPECTION
Inspect the gear teeth.
Blue discoloration/pitting/wear ĺ Replace.
Inspect the needle bearing in the reverse gear.
Wear/damage ĺ Replace.
