Test 10 — Checking Voltage at the Hydraulic Brake Valve
Testing for voltage at any hydraulic brake valve requires a
standard test plug adapter (can be ordered from Manitowoc
Cranes, Inc.) and a digital multi-meter.
To test brake valve:
Connect the test plug adapter between brake valve and
DIN plug.
Connect white (positive) and black (negative) wires from
adapter cable to digital multi-meter jacks.
Check for 12 volts DC while releasing the brake for the
system being tested.
Load current can be measured by connecting red and
white wires from adapter cable to digital multi-meter
jacks.
