Test 10 — Checking Voltage at the Hydraulic Brake Valve
Testing for voltage at any hydraulic brake valve requires a
standard test plug adapter (can be ordered from Manitowoc
Cranes, Inc.) and a digital multi-meter.
To test brake valve:
• Connect the test plug adapter between brake valve and
DIN plug.
• Connect white (positive) and black (negative) wires from
adapter cable to digital multi-meter jacks.
• Check for 12 volts DC while releasing the brake for the
system being tested.
• Load current can be measured by connecting red and
white wires from adapter cable to digital multi-meter
jacks.
