1004 with
points
ISO
1004 J,
remove
the circlip
retaining
the speedometer drive
gear.
5. Withdraw the speedometer
gear,
and
remove
the
gear
driving ball.
6. Using tool ISO
1004
with
points
18G
1004 J,
remove
the front speedometer
gear
circlip
and
the
governor
retaining
circlip.
7.
Withdraw
the
governor
assembly and
remove
its
drive
ball.
Dismantling
8.
Unscrew the
cover-plate
retaining
screws
and
remove
the plate.
9.
Unscrew the
two
screws
securing
the
valve
body
assembly
to
the counter-weight
and
remove
the
counter-weight. Check
that the
oilways of
both
components
line
up
with
each
other.

the
governor
weight
retainer
and withdraw
the
weight, valve,
and
spring.
Inspection
11. Check the
valve, weight
and
body bore for
scores;
renew
scored
components
if
the
scores
cannot
be
removed
by polishing.
12.
Clean
out
the oilways
and
passages.
Reassembling
13.
Reverse the
dismantling
procedure
in 7
to
9,
ensuring
that the
valve
and
governor
weight
move
freely.
Refitting
14.
Reverse
the
removing procedure
in 1
to
6,
noting
that
the
governor
is
tted
to
the
output
shaft
with the
cover-plate facing
away
from
the
gearbox.

VALVE
BODIES ASSEMBLY
Removing
1.
Drain
the
gearbox,
unscrew
the
oil
pan
retaining
screws
and
remove
the
pan.
2. Remove the
magnet
from
the
rear servo
securing
bolt.
3.
Remove the
rear
servo,
rear
clutch, front
servo
apply
and release
tubes,
by carefully levering
them
from
their push-t
connections.
