HEATER
(GHNS
and GHDS

Removing
1. Disconnect
the battery.
2. Drain the cooling
system,
see
Section C9.
3. Disconnect the
multi-connector
plug.
4. Slacken the clips
and
disconnect the heater hoses.
5.
Remove the
screws
securing
the
heater
unit
to
the
body.
6.
Release the washer
motor
wires
from
the
clip
on
the
heater
unit casing.
7. Withdraw
the
centre
console
to
give
access
to
the heat
control
mechanism,
see
Section
R40.
8.
Disconnect the
heater
temperature
control cable.
9. Disconnect
the demister
tubes from
the heater
unit.
10.
Withdraw
the
heater
unit
from
the
body
aperture.
Refitting
ll. Reverse the procedure
in
1
to
10,
feeding
the heater
temperature
control cable through
the slot
in the
bulkhead
before tting the
heater
unit.

HEATER WATER
VALVE

Removing
1.
Drain the cooling
system,
see
Section C9.
2. Slacken
the clip and
disconnect
the
heater
hose from
the valve.
3. Slacken
the heater
temperature
control
inner
cable
securing trunnion.
4. Slacken the
outer
cable
retaining
bracket
securing
screw.
Withdraw
the heater control cable from
the
valve.
Remove the
two
securing
bolts.
7.
Withdraw the
valve
and
joint washer
from
the cylinder
head.

Refitting
8. Reverse
the procedure
in l
to
7,
using
a
new
joint
washer if
necessary.

FAN
MOTOR

Removing
1. Disconnect
the
battery.
2. Disconnect
the
wires
at
the
terminals
on
the fan
motor.
3.
Remove the
three
screws
securing
the
fan
motor
to
the
heater
casing.
4. Withdraw
the
fan
motor
from
the
casing.
5.
Remove the clip
retaining the fan
to
the
fan
motor
spindle.
6. Remove
the fan from
the
spindle.
Refitting

Reverse the
procedure
in l
to
6.

HEATER
MATRIX

Removing
1. Remove
the heater
unit,
see
Section
R41.
2
Empty
any
remaining
coolant
from
the
heater
matrix.
3. Remove
the heater
casing retaining
clips.
4 Lift
the side of
the heater
casing
over
the
heater
matrix
outlets and place
to
one
side,
noting
that the
heater fan
motor
wires
are
connected
to
the heater
fan
motor
resistor inside the
main casing.
5.
Withdraw
the heater
matrix
from the
main casing.
6.
Remove the
packing
foam from around the heater
matrix.
Refitting

Reverse the procedure
in

to
6.

CABLE

Removing
1. Remove the heater
unit,

Slacken
the
outer
cable
retaining
bracket
screw.

cable

screw.

cable from
the heater
flap bracket.
