ELECT RICALLY HEATED BACK-LIGHT

Removing
1.
Remove both
rear
upper
quarter
trim
panels.
2. Disconnect
the
heated back—light
wires
from the
snap
connectors
inside
the right-hand and left-hand body
quarters.
3.
Remove
the back-light glass
as
detailed
in
Section
R.19.
4.
Withdraw the
wires
through the holes
in
the
body
and
surround
rubber.
Refitting
5.
Thread the
wires
through the holes
in
the
body
and
rubber surround.
6.
Re■t the back-light glass
as
detailed
in
Section R.19.

Reverse the procedure
in 1
and
2.

SEAT
BELTS
The
following instructions
refer
to
fitting
the
approved
‘Kangol
Magnet’
seat
belts
to
the
fixing
points
incorporated
in
the body
structure.
Rear
wheel
arch
EARLY CARS
1.
Remove
the
two
domed
nuts
and plain washers
from
the
■xing studs.
2.
Fit
the bracket
on
the studs
and
secure
it,
using
plain
washers,
spring
washers
and
domed
nuts.
LATER CARS
3.
Remove
the plastic
cap
from
the
fixing boss.
FIRST-TYPE SEAT
BELT
4.
Fit
a
spring
washer
to
the
short {5
in.
bolt,
pass
the
bolt
through the
centre
of the
three holes
in
the
belt
bracket
and
secure
the
bracket
to
the ■xing boss.
SECOND-TYPE SEAT
BELT
5.
Fit the
belt bracket
on
the short 77:;
in.
bolt,
followed
by
a
waved washer
and
a
distance
piece,
with the small
diameter end
of the distance piece
towards
the bolt
head.
6.
Secure
the
assembled
bracket
to
the fixing boss.
Sill
7. Locate
the
fixing
point
(its
position
can
be
felt
through
the
trim)
and
cut
the
trim
to
expose
the
fixing hole.

of the short belt
to

remaining

distance
piece
(small
diameter end towards
the bolt
head).
12.
Secure the
assembled bracket
with the
spring
washer
and
nut
■tted from inside
the tunnel.
LATER
CARS

Fit the belt bracket
of the short belt
to
the
remaining
ft
in.
bolt followed
by
a
waved
washer and
a
distance
piece
(smaller
diameter
end
towards
the head
of
the
bolt).
14. Secure
the assembled bracket
to
the exposed ■xing
boss
on
the
opposite
side of the tunnel
to
the
seat
for
which
the
belt
is
being
■tted.
Stowage
clip
15.
Fit the
stowage
clip under the head of|the
centre
hood
socket
securing
screw.
