assembled

both

clean, wash,

examination, paying
particular
attention

the
lubrication
passages.

sleeve
and shaft for
indentation.

Examine
the
bearing
races
and journals for
wear.
3.
Examine the holes
in
the
yokes
and
anges
for
ovality.
4.
Ensure that the
bearing
races are a
light driving t
in
their yokes.
5.
Check the ange
yoke faces for
burrs, cracks,
or
fractures.
All
worn
or
unserviceable
parts must
be renewed.

ASSEMBLING

SHAFT
1. To provide
a
good seal, apply
a
thin
coat
of
shellac
to
the
gasket
retaining
shoulders
on
the
spiders.

Use
a

retainers
