INSTRUMENTS
AND
SWITCHES
Removing
IMPORTANT—Disconnect
the battery
before
attempting
to
remove any
of the switches
or
instruments:
TACHOMETER
1.
Remove
the
left-hand lower
fascia panel
cover.
2.
Unscrew
the
two
knurled
retaining
nuts,
disconnect
the earth
cable and
remove
the
retaining
brackets.
3.
Withdraw
the
instrument
from the fascia and
disconnect
the
wiring.
OIL
PRESSURE
GAUGE
4.
Remove
the
tachometer
as
in
l
to
3.
5.
Remove
the
ignition
warning
lamp
and holder.
6. Unscrew
the
two
retaining
nuts,
withdraw
the
instrument
from
the
fascia
and
disconnect
the
wiring.
SPEEDOMETER
7.
Remove
the
heater air
control knob,
unscrew
the
control
retaining
nut,
and
disengage
the
control
from
its
mounting
bracket.
8.
Unscrew
the
trip
recorder
reset
knob
retaining
nut
and
disengage
the
reset
from
its
bracket.
9.
Unscrew
the
two
knurled retaining
nuts
remove
the
retaining
brackets
and
withdraw
the
instrument
from
the
fascia.
10. Disconnect
the drive
cable from
the
back
of
the
speedometer.
TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
11.
Remove
the heater air
control
as
described
in
7.
12.
Unscrew
the
knurled
retaining
nut
and withdraw
the
instrument
from the
fascia.
13.
Disconnect
the
wiring
from the
back
of the
instrument.
MIXTURE
CONTROL
(CHOKE)
14.
Remove
the
speedometer
as
in
7
to
10.
15.
Remove
the
temperature
gauge as
in
12
and 13.
16.
Disconnect
the
inner
cable
from
the
carburetter
linkage.
17.
Release
the
cable
from
its
clip
on
the
left-hand
side
of
the
gearbox
cover.
18.
Unscrew
the
control retaining
nut
from
behind
the
fascia
and
withdraw
the
control.
HEATER
BLOWER
SWITCH
19.
Remove
the heater
air
control
as
described
in
7.
20.
Disconnect
the
wiring
from the back
of the switch.
21.
Using
service
tool
18G 1145,
depress
the
switch
'
interior
retaining
lugs
and
withdraw
the
switch interior.

22. Disconnect
the
wiring
from the back of the switch.
23.
Using
service
tool 18G
1145,
depress
the switch
interior retaining
lugs
and withdraw the switch
interior.
FUEL
GAUGE
24. Unscrew
the knurled
retaining
nut
from the back
of
the
instrument.
25.
Withdraw the
instrument
from the
fascia,
disconnect
the
wiring
and
remove.
BRAKE FAILURE
WARNING LAMP
ASSEMBLY
26. Remove
the speedometer
as
in
7
to
10.
27. Remove
the
fuel
gauge as
in
24
to
25.
28. Disconnect
the
wiring
from
the back
of the lamp
assembly.
29.
Disengage
the
spring
retaining
clip and
withdraw the
lamp assembly.

Switch
complete

bezel.

30.
Remove
the
control
consoleaSection Ra.1.

Disconnect
the
wiring
from
the switch.
32.
Using
tool 18G 1145
press
in
the
four
retaining
lugs
and
withdraw the
switch.
MAP
LIGHT
SWITCH
33.
Carry
out
operations
30
to
32
as
for
the hazard
warning
switch.
PANEL
LIGHT SWITCH
34.
Withdraw the
centre
motif from the steering-wheel,
unscrew
the
retaining
nut
and
remove
the
steering-wheel
using
a
pull-type
extractor.
35. Remove
the three
retaining
screws
from
the
left-hand
switch
cowl
and
remove
the cowl
half.
