Removing
1.
Remove
the
steering-column—Section J .10.
2.
Remove
the steering-wheel
and'hub—Section
J.2.
3. Remove
the
direction
indicator/headlight
■asher/low-high
bea‘m
switch—Section N.30.
4. Remove
the direction indicator
switch
trip
from the
inner
steering-column.
5.
Slide
the
top
clamp bracket
off
the
steering-column.
6.
Turn
the
ignition
key
to
position
‘1’
to
ensure
that
the
steering
lock
is
disengaged.
7. Drill
out
or
remove
with
a
suitable
proprietary
tool,
the
retaining
shear bolts.
8. Unscrew the
steering
lock locating
grub
screw.
9.
Remove the
steering
lock and
ignitiOn
starter
switch.
Re■tting
10. Reverse the
removing
procedure
in 1
to
9,
using
new
shear
bolts and
ensuring
that the shear
bolts
are
tightened
until the
bolt heads shear
at
the
waisted
point giving
a
torque
tightness of
121bf. ft.
(1.66
kgf.
m.).
