Removing
1.
Remove
the
steering-column—Section J .10.
2.
Remove
the steering-wheel
and'hub—Section
J.2.
3. Remove
the
direction
indicator/headlight
asher/low-high
bea‘m
switch—Section N.30.
4. Remove
the direction indicator
switch
trip
from the
inner
steering-column.
5.
Slide
the
top
clamp bracket
off
the
steering-column.
6.
Turn
the
ignition
key
to
position
‘1’
to
ensure
that
the
steering
lock
is
disengaged.
7. Drill
out
or
remove
with
a
suitable
proprietary
tool,
the
retaining
shear bolts.
8. Unscrew the
steering
lock locating
grub
screw.
9.
Remove the
steering
lock and
ignitiOn
starter
switch.
Retting
10. Reverse the
removing
procedure
in 1
to
9,
using
new
shear
bolts and
ensuring
that the shear
bolts
are
tightened
until the
bolt heads shear
at
the
waisted
point giving
a
torque
tightness of
121bf. ft.
(1.66
kgf.
m.).
